A simple NFS Most Wanted Trick!

Need for Speed- Most Wanted is one of my favourite games even now. I just love this game. The best part is the chase by the police and the way you escape from it. But, many times escaping from the police gets seriously damn difficult.. So, what do you do?? Get your car impounded?? Nah! Don worry! The best method to escape is to close the game by pressing "Alt+F4".

You will loose all the data of the police chase and any milestones or bounty you got 'only' during that chase. So, I guess you will prefer this method over any other. Leave your comments if you have any other legal [;)] methods [not trainers].

Nvidia declares some AMD love - SLI support for AMD 990FX, 990X and 970 chipsets

Nvidia has announced SLI support on motherboards with AMD chipsets, giving gamers and builders the freedom to use multiple Nvidia GPUs with an AMD CPU. While this might not seem like a great boon at first sight, those owners or potential buyers who just prefer, or got stuck with an Nvidia GPU and AMD CPU will know what we mean, as they will now no longer feel forced to switch to an Intel CPU and mobo combo to have SLI fun – just a new motherboard.
The SLI support will feature on motherboards with the upcoming AMD 990FX, 990X and 970 chipsets. The first of these will come from ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI.
Nvidia’s Tom Petersen broke the news on the company blog, in a post entitled “You Asked for It, You Got It: SLI for AMD.”
“When you’re deciding what to build, finding the best CPU price performance ratio is key...We’ve been recently hearing chants of “SLI for AMD CPUs”, and figured that now is a great time to do it. After all, we want to make sure gamers can benefit from the new CPU competitive landscape and ensure they have NVIDIA SLI – the highest performance, most stable multi-GPU solution - to game on! According to Steam, 93% of all multi-GPU systems in use today use SLI.”
Unfortunately, no support has been announced for older, and cheaper chipsets, and widespread support like CrossFireX is a long way off, but we suppose we could chant some more.

Sony Launches Cart Kings for PS2 and PSP featuring Tinkle characters

Sony launched an India specific game for the PlayStation 2 and PSP platforms in which players can race around bullock carts, ridden by characters such as Shikari Shambhu, Supandi and Tantri the Mantri who are famous characters from Indian comic-lore. The arcade style game is titled – hold your breath – Cart Kings. Quite imaginative naming there, indeed, but judging by the reactions of kids lining up at the launch, the game itself may not be half bad. Of course in terms of graphics it is way behind and looks like a PS1 game, but gameplay-wise it might actually appeal to the intended audience – really really young kids. The game takes place in various Indian settings and landscapes such as Bollywood, Delhi and Tiger land. Players get to use corny powerups and weapons, such as chilly powder, soda bottles, and cow dung. No we're not bull$|-|*g here. Game modes include the standard fare i.e. split screen two player, time trial, quick race, and Championship which unlocks tracks. Watch the video for game play footage (following the trailer).

The game, developed by Gameshastra, is the fourth game release we've seen as part of Sony's partnership with Indian game development studios. The previous India specific games include Hanuman, Desi Adda, and Street Cricket Champion; developed by Aurona, Gameshastra, and Trine respectively. And do these games do well? Hanuman sold 95,000 units and Desi Adda sold 80,000 (on PS2). For drawing a reference point consider that the PS2 installed base in the country is around 6,50,000 consoles. Cart Kings is priced at an MRP of Rs. 699 for PSP and Rs. 499 for PS2.

Nintendo Wii 2 to be officially unveiled at E3 2011, released in 2012

Last week’s rumours of Nintendo being scheduled to unveil the successor to its Wii gaming console at E3 2011 seem to have been true, as the Japanese gaming giant officially announced it in Japan today.
E3 2011 will go on from 7th to 9th June, and while Nintendo is going to introduce a playable version of the console during the show, the new console will only hit shelves in 2012. Codenamed Project Cafe, the Wii 2 will undoubtedly be more powerful than the Wii, and will apparently be better endowed than the PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 – no real major feat, knowing as we all do the outdated nature of those consoles when compared to the current graphics and processor technologies of PC gaming.
The Nintendo Wii when introduced was the first console to bring motion controllers to the mainstream of video gaming, and now that Sony has gone ahead and pretty much perfected the interface with PlayStation Move (introduced at E3 2010), while Microsoft has revolutionized the living room with the Kinect, it’s only natural that Nintendo will attempt to introduce something revolutionary with the Wii 2 as well. Rumours for now point towards a touchscreen interface on the controller, which can combine different button sets in one location as required.
More details will of course be revealed (and leaked) in the days leading up to E3 2011, and the big announcement there will give us all the juicy details. Nintendo is currently struggling on many fronts, with tepid sales of the 3DS after years of dominating the portable market with the DS, as well as dropping demand for its Wii gaming console.
It also has a lot of catching up to do in the war of resolutions and graphics, but, with its out-of-phase (with Sony and Microsoft) development cycle, it might just have a decent chance at remaking its besmirched name with a truly powerful system endowed with the latest cutting-edge graphics and processor technologies, outpacing both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. The Xbox 720 is expected soon though, and Nintendo will definitely need to ensure comparable specs if not better, if it ever intends to recapture market share. Check out the full press release below, announcing the successor to the Wii.

Re: Wii's Successor System
Nintendo Co., Ltd. has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.
We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.
Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term ending March 2012.

Report: Finally, Nintendo to announce Wii 2 this June

For a five-year-old game console with no major updates in tow, the Nintendo Wii has been in the news an awful lot this month. There was that rumored price cut on May 15, the damning reports about its sales figures, and Kotaku noted that the Wii's games list has thinned out considerably.

So it comes as no surprise that on Friday, the blogosphere was rife with reports, led by IGN and Game Informer, that Nintendo is announcing its next-generation console at the E3 Expo on June 7-9.

French tech publication 01.net reports that the console is codenamed "Project Café" and will feature an in-built sensor bar, dual analog sticks, a standard d-pad, and trigger buttons. Game Informer said the new Wii will have HD support, while Kotaku reports that the console's specs will be "more powerful" than an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

Nintendo "declines to comment on speculation or rumors," but IGN and Game Informer both cited anonymous sources claiming that Nintendo will announce the next-generation console in at E3 this year and launch it in 2012.

Targeting casual gamers with its novel motion sensor technology, the Wii was once the hottest console in the U.S. but has seen its popularity dip considerably as newer motion sensor technology, like the Kinect for Xbox 360, launched. In February Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter said Wii sales dropped 31.5 percent in January (usually a big month for console purchases), more than rivals Sony and Microsoft. It's a far cry from the time PCMag editor called the Nintendo Wii the Best Product Ever.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 590, the company’s flagship dual-GPU card, has arrived in India in the form of the ASUS ENGTX590. Priced at Rs. 48,000 in the country, potential Indian buyers will again have to resign themselves to a hefty premium over the $700 retail price for the card, but then again, some things are priceless.

Apart from drivers, the ASUS ENGTX590 also ships with an updated Voltage Tweak utility, which will help users overclock the card’s core clock up to a blistering top-end of 918MHz. It’s 11-inch length is relatively diminutive for the power the card packs, but interested buyers should check their cabinets for space first!

AMD releases Radeon HD 6790, its top-end mainstream GPU

AMD has released its cheapest retail HD 6000 series GPU today, the Radeon HD 6790, priced at $149, below the HD 6850. Presumably meant to take on the recently released GTX 550 Ti at the price, the Radeon HD 6790 actually takes on the GTX 460 768MB variant instead, as Nvidia has just slashed prices of the GTX 550 Ti by roughly $20, to $130.
For those of you wondering how the HD 6790 is the cheapest desktop HD 6000 series card, and if we aren’t forgetting about the HD 6770 and the HD 6750, note that those are actually rebadged HD 5700 series models only for OEMs.
The HD 6790 seems like AMD’s ans

Charity video hints at Elena's return in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

A recent Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception charity video for Japan featured Nathan, Sully, and Elena. Her inclusion in the video has started off the rumour mills, with the majority finding this significant proof that Elena Fisher, Nathan’s love interest in Uncharted 2, will be a part of Uncharted 3.

While no conclusive proof is on offer, the character models for Nathan and Sully used in the charity video were both the latest iterations, designed for Uncharted 3, as seen in previous trailers and screenshots. So, though developers Naughty Dog could have modelled a new Elena simply for the sake of this video, it stands to chance that is not the case. Other evidence also points to the inclusion of Elena in Uncharted 3, with her voice actor from the previous game, Emily Rose, confirming last year that she’d be working with Naughty Dog again on the female lead.

WonderCon 2011 saw an announcement from Marvel and Activision – a new web-slinging adventure – Spider-Man: Edge of Time. After mixed reviews for the platform-spanning title, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Activision has once again charged developer Beenox to create the next Spidey offering. Shattered Dimensions writer and Spider-Man 2099 creator Peter David is at the helm once again.

The Edge of Time’s storyline could be thought of as a chronological sequel, but has been declared as a standalone piece. It has Amazing Spider-Man’s Peter Parker die in a time-travelling evil scientist attack from the future – the world of Spider-Man 2099.

Seeing it all happen but unable to prevent it the first time around, Spider-Man 2099’s world is turned into a post-apocalyptic nightmare due to the deleterious effects of Amazing Spider-Man’s demise. Spider-Man 2099 then joins up with Amazing Spider-Man before his death, to solve the mystery behind the whole episode, and the game ensues.

The player will play alternately with each timeline’s Spider-Man, communicating with the other with a video overlay at the bottom-right of the screen. Effects of players' actions will travel through time as well, with changes at critical moments, or to the cityscape, causing effects in various timelines.

Beenox and Peter David have probably made a wise decision in limiting the game to Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099, the two most balanced characters from the previous game - leaving out the specialized Noir and Ultimate Spider-Man.

Presumably, Spider-Man: Edge of Time will just like Shattered Dimensions be available across platforms as well, and is expected to release sooner than later – Q3 2011.

Crytek squashes rumours of a DirectX 11 PC patch for Crysis 2, announces other fixes

Crytek has managed to make one of the best looking games of 2011 without using DirectX 11 graphics, but PC fans everywhere have been expecting a DX11 patch for the platform ever since the game’s release. But while numerous websites reported Crytek would be releasing a DirectX 11 PC patch for Crysis 2 today, the German developer has confirmed that there is no such update lined up.
According to Crytek's community manager on MyCrysis.com:
“No patch was ever confirmed, I have no idea why this website even posted such information. This thread is locked just the same as the others for trying to spread inaccurate information. When there are any big announcements regarding Crysis 2 they will be posted on MyCrysis, if you read something about a patch for example, but don't see it on MyCrysis.com, then it isn't genuine.”
However, a PC patch is destined to release later this week, albeit not a DX11 update. The 1.2 PC patch will address USB headset issues with some brands, remove the auto-aim feature, add new cheat detection features, and, also fix issues with the servers and server browsers.

3DS suffering from 'black screen of death'; Nintendo recommends firmware update

Things aren’t looking too good for Nintendo, with several users on numerous forums reporting that their brand new 3DS portable consoles are suffering from repeated crashes, which they’ve christened the ‘black screen of death.’
Seen above, the black screen of death is not as permanent as it sounds, rather, it is an error message containing instructions to restart the console. This apparently resolves the issue for some users, but is not the case for many others, who still suffer from crashes during games, and even when simply navigating through the menu. Some users have resolved the problem by reformatting their SD cards to the FAT32 file system, but this again, is not a sure fire solution for all users with the problem. Nintendo has responded to claims with this message:
"If anyone is experiencing any problems with their Nintendo 3DS console, we recommend that in the first instance they download and install the latest system update, now available online. If the problems still persist we recommend they contact their local Nintendo Customer Service centre to investigate the problem further."

Nvidia releases the GeForce GTX 590 - the fight for the fastest graphics card is on!

Just a couple of weeks after AMD released the fastest graphics card in the world – the dual-GPU single-card Radeon HD 6990 – Nvidia has released the GeForce GTX 590, its own contender for the crown. It’s priced at the exact same $699 price point.
The GTX 590 is the first dual-GPU card from Nvidia since it released the GTX 295 in 2009. It combines two GF110 GPU cores, with twice the 512 CUDA processing cores, 64 texture units, 48 ROP units, and 16 tessellation engines of the top-of-the-line single-GPU, the GTX 580. Nvidia has also used twice the video memory, with 1.5GB for each GPU core across two 384-bit interfaces. As seen in some benchmarks however, this seems to be of the distinctive disadvantages faced by the GTX 590 compared to the HD 6990’s 4GB of video memory, especially at high-resolutions and multi-monitor setups.
So while the card just released, the results however, are already in, and while AMD Radeon HD 6990 delivers an average of 1% better performance across tests, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 is quieter and cooler, if not as power-efficient with an official TDP of 365W. As Anandtech's Ryan Smith puts it, the GTX 590 can “dissipate 350W+ of heat while at the same time making 5-7dB less noise, then it starts to become clear that AMD’s design has a serious weakness.”
GTX 590 cooling design is very similar to the GTX 580, with a metal baseplate acting like the passive heatsink for the VRMs and GDDR5 memory modules. The GPU cores use the same vapor chamber based aluminum heatsinks as well as, and, Nvidia went in for a high-thermal compound instead of AMD’s decision to use an exotic phase change thermal compound. Nvidia also used an 80mm fan instead of AMD’s choice of blower, which while similar for all practical purposes, differ in their airflow and noise. While AMD’s airflow might be better for overall cabinet cooling, it is very loud.

As you can see, Nvidia has underclocked the GTX 590 significantly when compared to its single-GPU base – the GTX 580. The GTX 590’s core clock runs at 607MHz, 165MHz slower than the GTX 580; its shader clock runs at 1214MHz, 330MHz slower; and, its memory clock runs at 853MHz (3414MHz data rate), 596MHz slower overall.

The GTX 590 has a centrally located fan just like the HD 6990, and has three DVI ports and one Mini DisplayPort, ideal for multi-monitor Nvidia Surround setups.
On the whole, and like with the AMD Radeon HD 6990, the GTX 590 serves a niche market, providing comparable performance as the GTX 570 SLI setup, for much the same price. Not a lot justifies the choice of a dual-GPU single card purchase, and the GTX 560 Ti will provide nearly the same performance with lower noise, temperature and power consumption, apart from a savings of $200. It all comes down to how you want to use it – do have the space, PSU, motherboard to handle an SLI or a dual-GPU single card setup? Do you prefer shader-intensive games, where the HD 6990 performs better, or extreme tessellation games, where the GTX 590 waltzes ahead? Importantly, the GTX 590 measures approximately 11-inches in length, an inch shorter than the HD 6990.

Duke Nukem Forever delayed again, by over a month

Gearbox Software and 2K Games have announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be delayed yet again, with its release date moving from May 3 in and the U.S. and May 6 internationally to June 14 in the U.S. and June 10 internationally .
We’re shocked, and surprised that we are shocked. After all, Duke Nukem Forever is the most ironically named game ever – literally taking forever to develop, 15 years since Duke Nukem 3D released in 1996. The game was scheduled to release in 1997, and since then has baited fans with tantalizing images and videos, and, received five vapourware awards, including a lifetime achievement award.
Will not actually giving any reason for the one month and one week delay, Randy Pitchford, the president of Gearbox Software and executive producer of DNF, simply stated:

“I'm very sorry for the added delay. We've all been working extremely hard and are very eager to deliver the game to you. I've been thinking of these lyrics from the great country song, 'He's The Duke'—'He told us if we waited we could Come Get Some, but I never knew Forever was going to be so long.' If you're like me, June cannot come quickly enough."
